Next Monday, May 19th, will mark the 13th anniversary of the first Apple Store. To show you how Apple have taken over the world, Retale have made this pretty spectacular map, which charts the impressive expansion of Apple Retail Stores in the US over the last 13 years in 60 seconds.
The first Apple store opened at 10 a.m. on May 19, 2001, at Tysons Corner Center in McLean, Virginia. The second opened three hours later at 10 a.m. Pacific Time at Glendale Galleria in Glendale, California. While most retailers are finding it hard to keep brick-and-mortar stores profitable, Apple continues to open new outlets all over the world (424 and counting).
