Back in 2009, Google and Twitter made an agreement to place tweets in Google desktop search and – under the command of former Twitter COO Ali Rowghani – the deal wasn’t renewed in 2011.
A recent Google update announcement has confirmed the renewal of the contract four years later, which could help boost engagement and bring fresh content and commentary from Twitter to Google searches.
Google’s Ardan Arac announced on Friday: “We’ve extended this to desktop now too, and in English everywhere.” The announcement was solidified with the following tweet:
