For the first time, the official Olympics Web site will sell onlineadvertising and sponsorship opportunities for Olympic sponsors, as well asfor Internet-based companies, according to The Sydney Organising Committeefor the Olympic Games.

For the first time, the official Olympics Web site will sell online advertising and sponsorship opportunities for Olympic sponsors, as well as for Internet-based companies, according to The Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games.

Advertising will run on sydney.olympic.org, a site developed by IBM Corp. and the Sydney Organising Committee.

The Sydney Olympics contracted with Phase2Media and BMCMedia.com to represent the site to advertisers. Packages include banner presence, sponsorship/affiliation with site content, e-commerce opportunities, and research support. The Sydney Games open in September 2000.
