RadioWave.com Inc., a subsidiary of Motorola Inc. and a provider of visually interactive radio for broadcasters, signed with InterVu Inc. to use the latter’s streaming media technology for online ads and content.
RadioWave.com allows radio broadcasters to capture Internet advertising dollars from their existing customers by coordinating live radio broadcasts with interactive visual advertising and programming.
“We are very pleased to add InterVu to our team of best-of-breed partners,” said James Burke, vice president of RadioWave.com. “INTERVU’s strengths in high-quality distribution make this alliance a natural fit.”
InterVu operates an automated network that consists of distributed video delivery centers located across major backbone providers and ISPs.
“With InterVu’s exclusively service-oriented business model, we will continue to act as a silent partner not competing for Internet traffic or brand awareness, helping to ensure that RadioWave.com’s clients create and enhance their own online brand identities,” said Harry Gruber, CEO of InterVu.
RadioWave.com developed the RadioWave.com Player, which takes live radio, streams it on the Internet and adds pictures of the commercial spots and links to the advertisers Web sites. It does the same for the music being broadcast displaying album art along with links to more information about the music on-air, creating e-commerce opportunities for advertisers.
