Execs and Accounts for January 8, 2007

Carat Fusion promotes three; Right Media makes hires; MediaFLO inks mobile distribution deals with two TV networks.

Carat Fusion promoted three West Coast-based executives through reorganization. Paul Santello was made EVP and regional managing director West, a newly created role with oversight of the Los Angeles and San Francisco offices. John Cate will fill the new post of SVP, GM of the San Francisco office. Michael Soh was promoted to GM of the company’s Los Angeles office.

Right Media named Chris Mahl, Denise Colella, and Hillary Smith as new executives.
Mahl, the former SVP of sales at SalesForce.com, becomes VP of sales. Colella, who joins from Blackfoot, will VP of international operations. Smith, who was general counsel and corporate secretary at DoubleClick, will fill a similar role at Right Media.

Forbes.com made two executive appointments. John Weisberber was named group advertising director, working under Forbes.com Chief Advertising Officer Kevin Gentzel. Pat Dignan was named advertising director for ForbesAutos.com.

Click Forensics recruited the former SVP of Symantec subsidiary WholeSecurity, Peter Norwood, to be its COO. Additionally, the click fraud reporting service hired Kevin Embree as SVP of product strategy. He was previously the head of eBay’s anti-phishing industry initiatives.

Scott Foernsler joined mobile messaging and marketing applications provider Air2Web as SVP of global sales. He previously worked at WebTrends as VP of worldwide sales.

MediaFlo inked deals with NBC Universal and Fox networks. MediaFLO will distribute NBC content such as “Today,” “Nightly News with Brian Williams,” “Meet the Press,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” to mobile users. The agreement with Fox brings the network’s properties, including “24,” “Prison break,” “Fox Report with Shepard Smith,” and “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” to MediaFlo’s mobile channel line-up.

John Daugherty Realtors named Spur Digital as its online agency of record. Houston-based Spur Digital will oversee the strategy, re-development and marketing of johndaugherty.com. The agency’s clients include Southwest Airlines, FedEx Kinko’s, Houston Museum of Natural Science, and Houston Chronicle.

Shop.com named Mondy Beller SVP of marketing. Beller was VP of marketing at JupiterImages, and VP of marketing at Shoes.com.

Amy Auerbach resigned as VP group account director at Media Contacts. In the position she handled media planning and buying for clients such as ING Direct and Outback Steakhouse. Prior to Media Contacts, Auerbach was media director at Nuron where she was responsible for media planning and buying for a number of clients.

Jumpstart Automotive Media hired Jocelyn Wong as West Coast sales manager, a newly created position. She was previously an account executive at IGN/Fox Interactive Media. Prior to IGN/Fox, she worked at Carat Fusion as media planner on the Hyundai Motor America account.
