Forecast Increases Outlook on Online Advertising

CSFB raises its online advertising estimates for Q4 2005 and all of 2006.

A report from Credit Suisse First Boston raises its estimates for online advertising for the fourth quarter of 2005, and for full year 2006. The survey finds marketers intend to increase their online ad spend by as much as 30 percent.

The forecast for 2006 is $16.6 billion, up from an earlier estimate of $14.9 billion. The 21 percent increase is attributed a more immediate shift of ad dollars to online than previously expected, according to the report.

Estimates for the fourth quarter of 2005 were raised by 37 percent, increasing the CSFB outlook to $3.7 billion.

The figures are in line reports from the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s third quarter findings.
