Real Media Chooses InfiNet to Host Ad Network

Real Media and InfiNet reached an agreement for InfiNet to manage server technology for Real Media’s ad network, which offers advertisers space on more than 550 locally branded media Web sites, mostly newspaper operations.

Real Media said it faced a decision about continuing to operate its own servers as it planned for growth. The company produces the ad management software product Open AdStream (OAS) as well as operating the ad network. But running a production shop was not its strategic focus.

“InfiNet is the natural choice for a number of reasons,” said Dave Morgan, Real Media president. “Foremost is InfiNet’s unique knowledge and expertise in serving online newspapers and local Web sites. We’ve been impressed by the company’s support of OAS, which a number of InfiNet customers use. And we know that InfiNet has the resources, skills and personnel to keep pace with our growth.”

InfiNet provides online publishing solutions for newspapers and a range of ISP services. A joint new media venture by Gannett, Knight Ridder and Landmark Communications, InfiNet provides Internet access behind partners’ and affiliates’ brands, Web site hosting, a variety of revenue- generating products, including a full line of Classifieds Suite products, ad- management tools, chat applications, and 24-hour technical support.
