Microsoft, Deutsche Telekom Sign Internet Ad Deal

Germany's Deutsche Telekom AG said itsigned a deal with Microsoft to putadvertising on the home page of its T-Online Internet service.

Germany’s Deutsche Telekom AG said it signed a deal with Microsoft to put advertising on the home page of its T- Online Internet service.

Telekom said in a statement that Microsoft would insert an ad button on T- Online’s home page, bringing in revenues of over 10 million marks ($5.5 million) for the one-year duration of the deal, according to Reuters.

“Our cooperation will open a new dimension on the German-speaking Internet. Until now, there has only been Internet advertising on this scale in the USA,” said Telekom’s chief of global systems business Herbert May.
