NYTimes.com gets new head of operations; ContextWeb adds to board.

The New York Times Company handed its executive director of corporate planning a new role as head of strategy and operations for NYTimes.com. James Rapp, who worked on the company’s acquisition of About.com, will report to Martin Nisenholtz, SVP of digital operations.

ContextWeb named Ross Goldstein to its board of directors. He’s a managing director of ContextWeb investor Draper Fisher Jurvetson Gotham Ventures and has served on the boards of Mimeo.com, Lumeta Corporation and Practical Engineering.

San Diego digital marketing firm Interactivate hired Cornelis de Jong as account director of its new urban division. He’s worked on marketing strategy for Bally Total Fitness and AOL Time Warner.

Cohen’s Fashion Optical named Flying Point Media to handle digital marketing for its approximately 100 franchise locations in Florida. The agency was founded in 2002.
