San Francisco-based Bravo! Marketing said it posted more than $1.4 million in revenue in 1998, representing a 100 percent increase over 1997.
Also doubling were Bravo!’s staff and client base, which sparked a move to new facilities to accommodate the company’s rapid growth. In addition, Bravo! acquired a small Web design firm in late 1998 to expand its expertise in 3D and multimedia Web development.
Privately held Bravo! Marketing was founded in 1995 by three corporate marketing executives with no previous agency experience. They said they attribute Bravo!’s success to its non-traditional agency approach.
“We form strong partnerships with our clients, and our philosophy and experience allow us to understand their business from the inside,” said Rick Scherle, co-founder and vice president of Bravo! Marketing.
Bravo!’s employee base nearly doubled in 1998, and the company moved from a small Financial District office space in February 1998 to a 3,800-square-foot building in the high tech region of San Francisco. Bravo! recently expanded its lease to include two additional buildings for a total of 7,000 square feet of offices.
Originally focused primarily on public relations, the agency’s portfolio now includes advertising, corporate identity and design, print collateral, and Web development and promotion services. The most recent addition came in October 1998, when Bravo! Marketing expanded acquired Anomaly Web Design, a small firm specializing in high-end 3D graphics and multimedia sites.
