Acquisition brings e-mail creation, management and analytics tools under Digital River's umbrella.
E-commerce outsourcing firm Digital River acquired BlueHornet Networks, owner of a permission-based, email marketing solution.
Digital River picks up several tools that will expand its offerings in the email channel, including campaign creation and management, loyalty building, revenue tracking and statistical analysis. The company will integrate BlueHornet with its existing e-commerce and marketing platform, and will also continue to offer it as a standalone product.
Digital River, whose clients include Staples and H&R Block, said it intends to build a single powerful metrics offering by merging the acquisition with its existing reporting engine.
“On the back-end, it will be integrated into our Fireclick Web analytics engine so that companies can use the combined metrics to continuously optimize their sites and e-commerce strategies,” said CEO Joel Ronning.
Digital River acquired all BlueHornet’s outstanding stock, and plans to maintain BlueHornet’s San Diego office.
