Publicis Modem Steals Organic's Alencar; Two Yahoo Execs Move on; Hachette Filipacchi Grabes Weisgerber from Forbes

Publicis Modem hired Mauro Alencar as executive vice president and executive creative director, Publicis Modem West. The interactive agency created the post for Alencar, who was previously executive creative director for Organic in San Francisco.

Rapt named JoAnna Abel director of marketing. The media monetization company hired Abel from Yahoo where she was a director in global direct marketing.

PopularMedia hired Cricket Wardein as senior vice president of account services. The viral marketing solutions company hired Wardein from Yahoo, where she was chief marketing officer for Australia and New Zealand.

Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. named John Weisgerber VP/director digital advertising. The media company created the position for Weisgerber, who was previously VP of corporate sales for Forbes Media.

Yellowpages.com extended its agreement with Marchex for search marketing services. The local search and Internet Yellow Pages site will use the advertising company for local Internet search marketing for Yellowpages.com’s base of local advertisers.

Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) will use Intergi for advertising across the SOE network. The gaming Web site ad rep company will place ads on SOE’s more than 30 Web sites, including gaming portal Station.com.

Centro hired Jay Kelty as an account executive. The local media platform and ad services company hired Kelty from the Chicago Sun-Times Media Group where he was an account executive in the Major Retail and Entertainment groups.

Time Life tapped Special Ops Media for “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” and “Get Smart” DVD marketing. The interactive agency is providing online marketing, online strategy and online publicity for the DVD releases of both classic television shows.

Quantcast hired two senior execs. The Internet ratings service named Damian Reeves as chief technical officer and Ron Bodkin as chief software architect.

ScanScout hired four execs. The video technology and services company hired Cary Munk as a senior account executive, Kim Brown as sales director – West, Philip Braden as VP product management and Erwin Castellanos as VP publisher services.

The Bon-Ton Stores signed with iPost for e-mail solutions. The operator of 280 department stores in 23 states will use the iPost Mailing Manager service for e-mail marketing campaigns.

Undertone Networks promoted Edward Carey to VP of sales. Carey had previously been a sales director for the online advertising network.

Revolution hired Darren Marshall to head its Sponsorship Research Group. The sports marketing and media services agency hired Marshall from Knowledge Networks.
