Magazine Publishers Promote Electronic Media Kits

The Magazine Publishers of America trade group is gearing up to encourage its membership to adopt electronic media kids.

The New York-based association has teamed with Mediamark Research, which provides media data to agencies and advertisers, to provide Mediamark services and discounts to MPA members. At the same time, the MPA said it is encouraging members to adopt Mediamark’s MRI+ electronic media kit format.

“As more companies convert media kits from print to electronic, the timeliness, accuracy and accessibility of those kits is key to their ultimate usability,” said Wayne Eadie, who is senior vice president of research at the MPA. “By embracing this new delivery system for the information we have traditionally provided in a less efficient form, it’s a win-win for all concerned.”

Solar Communications Goes Multi-Channel

Print production house Solar Communications is looking to enter the online space with a new multi-channel tool for interactive and offline marketers.

In connection with email services provider Bigfoot Interactive, the Naperville, Ill.-based firm’s new M@il Integrator can administer email and direct marketing campaigns from a single service.

M@il Integrator also includes tools for transferring direct mail creative into online ads.

“When speaking with our clients, we continually heard the request for a solution that would effectively integrate online and offline mail,” said Solar Communications Chairman and CEO Frank Hudetz.

FindWhat Continues Profitable Run

Paid listings provider FindWhat posted heightened revenue and higher earnings during its second quarter.

The New York-based firm said revenue increased 11 percent from first quarter, to $9.7 million. The company also posted net earnings of $4.3 million, or $0.22 per share.

On the strength of the results of its fifth consecutive profitable quarter, the company raised its full-year revenue projections by $500,000 to $39.5 million, and earnings-per-share guidance by $0.02 to $0.46.
