Execs & Accounts: Time Inc., Media Logic, Room 214

Time Inc. interactive president Ned Desmond leaves under broad restructuring; Media Logic hires Michael Smith.

Ned Desmond, president of Time Inc. Interactive, is leaving the company. His departure comes as the company eliminate 600 jobs. “The time has arrived to move all the digital responsibility to the new teams in our new business units,” reads the memo from Time Inc. management. (via MediaMemo)

Media Logic hired Michael Smith as director of interactive marketing. Previously with Pitney Bowes Software, Smith has also managed interactive campaigns for MTV Networks, Cablevision, Pitney Bowes Software, Microsoft, Target, American Express, and Acura.

The Travel Channel extended a relationship with social media agency Room 214 through 2009. The Colorado-based agency has worked with Travel Channel on several buzz and social marketing programs this year.
