Hughes steps down as executive director at NAI; Schematic hires SVP, client services, in L.A.; ChaCha names VP, ad sales.
Trevor Hughes stepped down as executive director of the Network Advertising Initiative. The NAI is a trade association for companies in the behavioral targeting space. A spokesperson said Hughes will devote his full energies to the International Association of Privacy Professionals, a group he also leads. She said both groups have grown substantially of late, and the demands of his dual roles has become more than one person can reasonably handle. No successor has been named.
WPP-owned Schematic names LA, London executives. Baron Conway was hired as SVP, client services, in Schematic’s Los Angeles office, and Jon King as client services director in its London office. Conway joined from Organic, where he was group direct, global business development. King joined from Virgin Media Television. Schematic recently completed work for NBC Universal, Target, Comedy Central, and Dell.
LookSmart hired Gill Brown as VP, ad sales. Brown, most recently with Tribal Fusion in a sales leadership role, will be based in LookSmart’s San Francisco headquarters.
SMS-based search firm ChaCha hired Rob Wilk as VP of ad sales. He joined the human-powered search experience from Yahoo, where he was most recently director of agency sales.
Financial service firm Virgin Money USA tapped ClickSquared for interactive relationship marketing efforts. A multi-channel marketing program developed by ClickSquared will expand Virgin Money’s e-mail personalization efforts.
Video ad management firm Adap.tv hired Eric Lan as VP, engineering. Lan will be responsible for Adap.tv’s technology platform development and global operations.
