Habeas signs new e-mail filters to its Sender Warranted E-mail service; ninedots appoints two; RareMethod acquires 25 percent of Idea Machine.
Habeas has signed seven new email filtering solution providers to its Sender Warranted E-mail (SWE) service, which was developed to “help solve the issue of email over-filtering.” The new participants include Apache James, ESCOM, Group Mail, Spamcounterstrike, Spamfire, Spamnix and TMDA.
The service works by trademarking and copyrighting a unique set of lines, known as the warrant mark, which is embedded in the headers of outgoing email. “Warrant-marked” email will be recognized as legitimate by those ISPs and filters that have opted in to the Habeas service, a process also sometimes known as “white listing.” The Habeas SWE service is already recognized by spam filters such as SpamAssassin, Mailshell, Mail-Filters.com, iHateSpam, SpamBouncer and Cybersitter.
Canadian interactive agency ninedots has appointed Ken MacLean as director of its Nike and FedEx accounts and David Barclay as director of business development. MacLean has overseen creative work for brands such as Nestle, McDonalds and K-Swiss during stints at Symcor, Marketize and Cyberplex. Barclay was most recently associate director of business development for Modem Media.
Interactive marketer RareMethod has acquired 25 percent of Idea Machine, a Canadian strategic marketing and web development firm. Calgary-based Idea Machine counts Coca-Cola, Kellogg’s, Jones Apparel Group and Cadillac among its clients. The firm was also named one of the top 10 Canadian digital agencies for 2002 by Marketing Magazine.
