San Francisco-based ISP Surfree.com said it launched an advertising campaign comparing its service to that of AOL, hoping to woo dissatisfied customers.

The company said it hopes to introduce AOL users to the “Real Internet” through Surfree.com.

“They’re bigger–we’re better,” said Adam Portnoy, founder and president of Surfree.com. “People’s reluctance to change email addresses prevents them from switching to a more responsive and affordable service provider.”

Surfree charges $17.97 per month for unlimited use compared to AOL’s new pricing structure of $21.95.
