MEG Communications developed a newpromotional game, Gobbler Rock!, for Rayovac.

MEG Communications developed a new promotional game, Gobbler Rock!, for Rayovac.

The star of the Shockwave game, inspired by Rayovac’s Fierce Creatures TV campaign, is an animated CD player. Game players flip batteries to the hungry gobbler and score points by keeping the Gobbler rocking as long as possible. The top scorer each month qualifies for a free portable CD player and Rayovac Maximum Alkaline batteries.

The promotion is part of a strategy to increase traffic to Madison, WI-based Rayovac’s expanding presence on the Web, the agency said. Billings were not disclosed.

The game will be promoted in the Michael Jordan section of CBS Sportsline, with banner placements beginning in mid-March.

MEG, an advertising and marketing communications company specializing in new media, developed the Rayovac.com site.
