Intel Corp. said it has created “a first-of-a-kind ad” in which TV audiences select the ending of a commercial by casting votes on the Internet.
The TV commercial will be aired during this year’s Super Bowl, and will encourage viewers to log on to Intel’s Web site to help solve a mystery.
The characters, of course, are the familiar Intel BunnyPeople. A Pentium II processor is missing from the clean room, and the detective needs the help of the TV/Web audience to solve the mystery. Viewers will recognize the voice of actor/comedian Steve Martin portraying the detective.
Ads will air during the Super Bowl on Sunday, Jan. 25, approximately between 4 and 4:25 p.m. PST (1 p.m. EST) and 6 to 6:25 p.m. PST. Voting will start after the first commercial and continue through the third quarter of the game. The ending that receives the most votes will be aired in the fourth quarter.
