Cost-per-click ad network ValueClick said it is now serving more than one billion impressions a month.

ValueClick provides a performance-based Internet advertising solution in which an advertiser only pays when an Internet user clicks on its banner advertisement.

In October 1999, the company said it saw a growth rate of more than 35 percent, compared to September 1999, based on the number of clicks sold to advertising clients.

The network consists of more than 9,000 Web sites and is serving more than 40 million ads daily.

“The continued growth of the network illustrates that advertisers and publishers recognize the advantages of performance-based advertising,” said Jim Zarley, chairman and chief executive officer of ValueClick.
