AutoConnect signed an exclusive multi-year agreement with GTE New Media Services to incorporate its SuperPages Interactive Service , an online Yellow Pages directory, into its site for information on pre-owned cars.

“Adding GTE’s Yellow Pages directory services to AutoConnect creates a powerful, new tool for auto-related businesses,” said Patrick Marshall, president, GTE New Media Services Inc. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Customized to meet the needs of AutoConnect shoppers, GTE’s SuperPages service provides listings for virtually all auto-related businesses in the United States, the company said. AutoConnect customers can search GTE’s national database by proximity or keyword, conduct reverse searches as well as search via any one field in the search form.
Automotive categories include: Accessories; Body Repair and Painting; Repairing, Service and Towing ; Parts & Supplies; Tires and Wheels; Washing and Detailing; Renting and Leasing and General Automotive.
“The nexus of GTE SuperPages and AutoConnect will go a long way toward truly delivering on the local potential of the Internet,” said Chip Perry, president and CEO of AutoConnect.
AutoConnect and GTE New Media Services will share advertising on the co- branded pages. Additionally, AutoConnect will be able to offer its car dealer customers a link from their listing in GTE’s SuperPages to their individual dealer Web site.
AutoConnect is owned by Manheim Auctions Inc., a subsidiary of Cox Enterprises, and the Dealer Services Group of Automatic Data Processing Inc. (ADP).
