DoubleClick Chosen to Represent Infoseek in Six Countries

New York City-based DoubleClick Inc. entered an international ad sales partnership with portal and search site Infoseek.
“Infoseek is scaling rapidly around the world, and DoubleClick’s local sales teams allow us to expand quickly and concentrate on building a world-class Internet site,” said Beth Haggerty, senior vice president of worldwide strategic partnerships and advertising sales at Infoseek. The countries included in the partnership are France, Spain, the UK, Netherlands, Brazil and Mexico.
DoubleClick has established operations with local advertising sales forces in 15 countries and sells advertising to more than 2,300 advertisers worldwide. DoubleClick’s International Network represents more than 1,300 sites, including Fast Company, Macromedia, EDGAR Online, Sega Europe, MTV Europe, Wired Japan, CNET Japan, and ZDNet Spain.
“With the powerful combination of DoubleClick’s international sales organization and DART technology, DoubleClick will maximize revenues for Infoseek in several major Internet advertising markets and help them build on their strong international market position,” said Barry Salzman, president of DoubleClick International.
