BrightRoll hired former Heavy.com executive; Specific Media promotes, hires staff; and GenieKnows.com hires vendor to monitor its online traffic quality.

BrightRoll hired former Heavy.com sales exec. Tommy Pizzo, formerly VP of East Coast sales at Heavy.com, was named VP of East Coast sales of BrightRoll. Pizzo also managed relationships with Sprint, Frito-Lay, Verizon Wireless, and Pepsi when he was senior territory manager at MySpace.

Specific Media promoted two, hired one. Robert Zamzow, promoted to sales director, will continue to manage the team of sales executives. Lars Djuvik was promoted to sales director within the Chicago office. Brent Roberts, formerly of LookSmart, joined Specific Media as a sales executive covering the greater San Francisco Bay area.

GenieKnows.com selected a vendor to monitor click fraud. Canadian-based search ad network GenieKnows.com will use Anchor Intelligence to monitor online traffic quality and reduce the risk of click fraud.

ContextWeb promoted one to sales manager. Joshua Perkiel has been promoted to sales manager of the Northeast region. Perkiel started with ContextWeb, which runs Adsdaq, in 2005 as a senior account executive.

Novell picked U.K.-based search marketing agency. Infrastructure software company Novell went with U.K.-based Search Laboratory. Novell’s requirements include search marketing for multilingual SEO and PPC management and localization of online advertising. Search Laboratory was up against nine other suppliers for the contract.

Molecular gained clients in 2008. Clients that signed on with Molecular include The Hartford, TCW (The Trust Company of the West), Meijer, and GSN (formerly the Gameshow Network).
