Execs & Accounts: CBS, Agency.com, Noah Brier

CBS names Quincy Smith head of CBS Interactive as it closes CNET acquisition; Agency.com rehires Barry Goldberg.

CBS Corp. named Quincy Smith CEO of CBS Interactive and Neil Ashe president of that division. Smith has led CBS Interactive since joining the company in November 2006, and Ashe has led CNET Networks since October 2006. CBS announced the appointments in conjunction with the completion of its acquisition of CNET.

Agency.com rehired Barry Goldberg as managing partner of operations in its New York office. Goldberg was at one time VP of project management and delivery at the agency before going to Tribal DDB New York as director of operations.

Barbarian Group hired Noah Brier, formerly of Naked, to head up strategy and planning. Brier is the creator of Brand Tags, an online crowd-sourcing project that uses free association to capture consumers’ feelings about a brand.

NBC Universal promoted Vivi Zigler to president of NBCU Digital Entertainment. In her new post, Zigler will be involved with all NBC Universal entertainment Web sites, in addition to retaining oversight of NBC Universal Digital Studio and NBC Digital Entertainment, including NBC.com.

NaturalPath Media, a health and sustainability ad network, hired Jim Van Huysse as EVP, operations and marketing, and Richard Rocca as SVP, sales and business development. Van Huysse was previously GM of the AOL Radio Network. Rocca was an executive at Glam Media, building out sales and a lifestyles vertical for the women’s ad network.

Local.com entered a sales partnership with White Directory Publishers, a division of Hearst Holdings. White Directory Publishers’ sales reps will represent display ad inventory on Local.com to national advertisers with regional marketing budgets.
