AOL hires author of Yahoo's "peanut butter manifesto"; Centro nabs Bryce Emo.
AOL has named Brad Garlinghouse, who while at Yahoo penned the famous “peanut butter manifesto,” as president of Internet and mobile communications. He’ll be tasked with growing the reach of the firm’s e-mail and instant messaging services. Garlinghouse was most recently at Silver Lake Partners as an in-house Senior Advisor. Prior to that, during five years at Yahoo, he led the company’s communications and community products. Garlinghouse will report directly to AOL’s Chairman and CEO, Tim Armstrong.
Local and regional digital ad specialist Centro LLC has appointed Bryce Emo to head up its sales efforts and teams across the U.S. Emo joins from Photobucket, where held the position of SVP of monetization, and prior to that he held senior sales roles at MySpace.
Digital and social marketing firm KARMA Media Labs appointed Karina Grotz as VP of marketing and business development, and Tom Williams as VP, client services. Grotz joins from Freemantle Media, where she was director of integrated marketing and sponsorships, and Williams joins from Fox Interactive Media/MySpace, where he was VP of marketing communications.
