Go2Net Names National Sales Director

Seattle-based Go2Net Inc., which operates a network of technology- and community-driven Web sites, hired Ellen McManus as the company’s national sales director.
McManus previously supervised the sales efforts of Yahoo Canada, @Home Canada, Quicken Canada and CNET Briefs Canada, as sales director for Rogers New Media. McManus also represented Rogers in the launching of Canada’s comprehensive content site, CANOE (Canadian Online Explorer) in 1995.
“Ellen brings to Go2Net an unusually strong combination of Internet sales and management expertise,” said Russell C. Horowitz, Go2Net chief executive officer. “We’re. . . fortunate to be adding someone with her experience to direct the ongoing growth and day-to-day operations of Go2Net’s sales force.”
While the majority of the Go2Net sales infrastructure is based in the company’s Seattle headquarters, McManus will also supervise the sales operations of Go2Net’s recently opened offices in New York and Chicago. In addition, Go2Net plans to open a San Francisco office this month.
