Google’s self-driving cars have been involved in 11 minor accidents, the tech giant has admitted.
Google stressed that the 11 accidents out on the roads in the US where not the fault of the technology.
All of the accidents were minor, with “light damage” and “no injuries”.
Google, which has been developing self-driving for six years, further stressed that “not once was the self-driving car the cause of the accident”.

“Over the six years since we started the project, we’ve been involved in 11 minor accidents (light damage, no injuries) during those 1.7 million miles of autonomous and manual driving with our safety drivers behind the wheel, and not once was the self-driving car the cause of the accident.”
Associated Press contacted five other companies that are trialling self-driving tech, all of which said they had not been involved in any accidents.
