The deal builds upon earlier agreements under which Modem Media has provided support for General Electric’s Internet planning, building, and marketing initiatives.
Modem Media will provide Internet and intranet planning and development services to GE Corporate and its business units, including those in North America, Asia, South America and Europe.
The agency is doing a complete redesign of GE’s corporate Web site. The first phase of the new ge.com went live on July 20. It will be upgraded with additional content and tools, which will be tailored to an individual customer’s information, commerce and service needs.
“GE business units operate in more than 100 countries around the world, and developing our global Internet enterprise is a key strategic priority for us,” said Gary M. Reiner, senior vice president and chief information officer at GE. “We selected Modem Media because of their strategic approach and demonstrated expertise in working with global companies.”
