IBM is the most mentioned B2B brand in over 100 countries around the world – and the UK – according to a study by Brandwatch.
The research found that 53.8% of all 10 B2B industry conversations on social is about the business software sector, the aerospace sector follows with 13.5% of all mentions, while medical and energy generate 8% each.
In the UK, the average B2B brand runs 1.2 Twitter accounts and has just 11,634 followers on their primary account, which is pretty dismal when compared to the US, where the average American B2B company owns 2.4 Twitter accounts and has 82,411 followers.
Furthermore, 73% of B2B mentions come from the United States, while just 27% comes from the United Kingdom.
However factors such as market size, brand popularity and the average number of employees for US brands compliment these findings.
Take a look at the following infographic which breaks down UK counties based on the most mentioned B2B brands – lighting up the map in a familiar colours leading up to this week’s General Election (perhaps in an unfamiliar pattern).
