Lisa Gamliel was named marketing director for National Geographic Interactive in Washington, DC. She had been director of marketing at Discovery Enterprises Worldwide.
Gamliel will be responsible for marketing the Society’s interactive businesses, including its Web site and a line of eight CD-ROMs.
“Lisa’s proven track record in growing new media business globally makes her an ideal team member for NG Interactive,” said Larry Lux, senior vice president of NGI.
Gamliel has more than 15 years’ experience in marketing and advertising, with a strong focus on television, holding key positions at Showtime Networks and American Movie Classics. Four years ago she shifted into new media, launching both Discovery Channel Online and Discovery Channel Stores.
