Mountain View, CA-based Quote.com Inc. promoted Eric Merkow from director, Eastern region advertising sales to director, national advertising sales.
In his new position, Merkow will oversee the company’s national ad sales team and spearhead the development of new advertising and sponsorship programs. He will report to Aaron Barnes, Quote.com’s vice president of sales and strategic alliances.
Merkow joined Quote.com in September 1997 as Eastern Advertising Sales Account Executive. Before that he was national account executive for The New York Post and he also has worked as marketing manager with Madison Square Garden.
Quote.com says that more than one million people use the company’s free services each month. The company’s Web site has more than 330,000 registered users who access streaming quotes and charts and various investment management tools. Quote.com’s 10,000 most active investors subscribe to premium content and tools at prices ranging from $25 to $100 per month.
Quote.com also provides private-label services to companies including Charles Schwab, E*TRADE, Waterhouse Securities, Compaq Computer Corp., NationsBank, SunAmerica and AT&T Wireless and InfoSpace.com.
