According to a new report from Econsultancy and RedEye, 73% of digital marketing professionals have seen a marked improvement in conversion rates, leading 60% to recognise CRO as crucial to their marketing strategy, and 90% of companies to say it has increased in importance.
Based on a survey of almost 1,000 client-side and agency digital marketers taken between July and August 2013, the fifth ever annual Econsultancy Conversion Rate Optimization Report reveals that the global trend towards media convergence has led nearly 70% of companies to decide to take more of a joined-up approach to media planning.
As well as this, 59% also said that greater media convergence has led to a decrease in offline marketing budgets, as funds are increasingly spent on delivering a more effectively joined-up digital strategy.
Linus Gregoriadis, research director for Econsultancy, commented: “This study makes two things clear. First, marketers are shifting their working models dramatically to adjust for the new media consumption. Second, many marketers still aren’t sure how they’ll keep pace with the change. We’re happy to have shed some light on what the smartest marketers are doing to transform with the times.”
