THINK New Ideas Inc. in New York City and the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) have launched the next generation Bigleaguers.com Web site.
Using THINK’s proprietary WebMechanic, MOAT (Multi-user, Object-oriented Authoring Tool) and E-Corp solutions, Bigleaguers.com provides both the MLBPA and the more than 700 players themselves with a forum to interact with fans. Billings for the project were not disclosed.
“The Bigleaguers.com online environment is an excellent example of how to create a virtual brand and support it with a combination of marketing, technology and creative expertise, ” said THINK president and COO Ron Bloom.
“The thing that separates Bigleaguers.com from all of the other baseball Web sites is that the players themselves have the ability to generate content and communicate directly with fans from their own personalized Web site,” he said.
Bigleaguers.com has also added more in-depth audio interviews with star players as well as photo galleries, player profiles and notes for the players’ personal sites.
