Bolstered by massive online investments, a strong quarterly performance from the UK advertising sector has caused the experts at Warc to revise their UK ad growth forecast for the next 12 months, upping it by 0.5%.
The new adspend total in the UK is thus predicted to reach of £18,786m by the end of the year – excellent news for the digital marketing sector.
With internet advertising up by 13.7%, digital advertising is fast on the heels of the current dominant advertising format, TV, which gew by 14.5% in Q3 2013.
Other more traditional forms of advertising, such as the cinema (-8.1%), newsbrands (-6.9%), out of home (-4.8%), radio (-4.3%) and magazine brands (-2.2%) all suffered year-on-year decline, as more and more brands look to invest in digital and online advertising.
Bolstered by an increased interest in the benefits of engaging online content, such as infographics, video, and imagery, experts predict digital marketing and online advertising will surpass all other forms of popular advertising in the not-too-distant future.
