Fans of Lynda Bellingham have taken to Facebook to demand the return of her much adored Oxo ads over the Christmas period to commemorate her life – but will the famous brand respond?
Bellingham, a 66-year-old most recently known for her ongoing slot on ITV’s female-geared talk show – Loose Women – passed away today (October 20) after losing her battle with bowel cancer.
Bellingham became synonymous with the brand during a 16-year advert series. Fans established a Facebook page just hours after her death, calling for the series to be replayed to commemorate her life.
She featured in a series of ads from 1983-1999.
“With the permission of her family, ITV could screeen the famous Oxo ad’s on Christmas Day with a trailer for colon cancer charities,” suggested Joanne Swales.
“A fitting tribute for a British gem. Rip Oxo mum,” she added.
Debby Newman added on Facebook: “Having grown up with Lynda on these ads I think this is a wonderful idea, such a fitting tribute to an amazing women.”
