Notting Hill Carnival is synonymous with colourful flamboyance, rumbling bass, food, dance – and the inevitable queue of bulging bladder’s desperately waiting for the latrine.
However, this year, carnival-goers can find the nearest pissoir with the help of a handy new app.
The free mApp will be packed full of up-to-date information on what’s happening at the Carnival, where and when. It will feature a map of the route, locations of sound stages, the judging point, first aid, safety zones and food stalls.
Enabled with GPS, it will to show you where you are and the maps still work on your smart phone even when there is no mobile reception.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson said: “This useful free App will help guide thousands of people around the carnival footprint to enjoy the array of floats, sounds and delicious Caribbean cuisines. It will also come in handy when planning entrance and exit points, ensuring you make the most of your celebrations this bank holiday weekend.”
The carnival mApp is available as a free download from Apple Store and Google Play, as well as from the web www.notting-hill-carnival-mapp.com.
