We’re sad to say bye to this year’s Digital Marketing Show; the whole .rising team have had an awesome time meeting some of digital’s most innovative companies, leaders and newcomers.
Highlights from day two include sipping milkshakes with the guys from Squared Online, getting our moustaches trimmed at the #MoBar and testing/losing at the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing’s (IDM) new digital skills app.
The IDM launched its new mobile app at the show – free to download, the app is a short interactive course introducing the fundamental principles of direct and digital marketing.
Developed using the latest mobile technology, the app is easy to use and combines a number of skills tests with expert content from one of the IDM’s most popular qualifications. Our very own .rising editors tested out how their scores ranked against their peers via an in-app leaderboard (not very well).
IDM Programme Director, Jane Cave commented: “We’re all about providing new and engaging opportunities for marketers to improve their skills and careers. The IDM app is a quick, easy and fun way for marketers to test what they already know, as well as to learn something new. One of the best features is that they can play to their competitive nature by pitting themselves against fellow marketers to get the highest scores.”

Other highlights included getting our moustaches styled by the guys at Yes Sir Men and their portable #MoBar – a pop-up grooming station conceived in celebration of Movember.
As well as having fun around the conference’s many stands, we had loads of fun talking to the show’s most interesting speakers and contributors from our own studio, based at the heart of proceedings. We chatted about the latest trends shaping the future of digital and how the landscape has changed over recent years, influenced by new technology and cultural change.
In case you missed it, you can check out our video summary of day one at the show here.
Stay tuned for some more video content, including exclusive interviews, coming your way soon. We’ve discussed everything from programmatic marketing to big data and ‘Infobesity’ – a new crisis that could be soon eating up the digital world.
