This week’s unmasked marketer is Buzz Wiggins, co-founder and CTO at Adcade. Wiggins – apart from having an awesome name – looks great in slo-mo, looks to trees as a source of great inspiration and hates buzzwords…wonder why.
Find out what happens when you give marketers seven questions and one minute to explain what inspires and motivates them.

What do you want to be remembered for?
My contributions to digital technology and my ability to grow a mustache.
What’s your favorite quote?
“The best time to start living your dream is ten years ago. The second best time is right now.” – Reappropriation of a proverb about trees. Seriously, trees make a good source of inspiration.
What makes you wake up in the morning?
Artis Coffee, my team at Adcade, and the fact that I’m never 1 month away from skiing or surfing (or both).
Who’s your biggest inspiration?
My father, Ron Wiggins. His resume is incredible (and real): Fur trapper, pro motocross racer, master bricklayer, Paul Bunyan lookalike logger, ski patroller, and all around good guy.
What’s going to be big in marketing this year?
In a perfect world? The convergence of media and the industry coming to terms with the fact that every screen is a different size of the same thing. But this world is not perfect, so probably Justin Bieber.
What’s your least favorite “buzz word”?
I’m actually pretty down on the term “buzz word” for obvious reasons (right up there with Buzz Lightyear and Buzzworthy). I also think the term “mobile” is actively dividing and therefore stagnating our industry.
What was your favorite digital campaign from 2014?
I wish you’d asked about 2013 because then I would have said Ibizious (or a number of others, 2013 was a great year for digital).
The Chipotle Scarecrow campaign was crushing awards in 2014 and was very inspiring:
