A new report by Marin Software, a company which provides a Revenue Acquisition Management platform for advertisers and agencies, has revealed the growing success of Google Product Listing Ads (PLAs).
Research based on the $4 billion+ in annualized paid search spend through Marin Software’s platform has revealed that PLA click-through-rates (CTR) have increased every month since February 2013, reaching record levels in July 2013.
The high CTR of PLAs, coupled with a 93% year-over-year increase in click share, reveals a dramatic acceptance of PLAs by online shoppers. As a result, retailers are responding by increasing their investment in the ad type as they prepare for this year’s holiday shopping season.
Matt Ackley, chief marketing officer at Marin Software, commented: “Product Listing Ads are a break through format for advertisers, but also a big step toward improving the online shopping experience for users.
“Google Product Listing Ads showcase what happens when users encounter relevant, engaging ads. There is no doubt the online shopping landscape has been significantly changed by PLAs and we expect even more notable results this holiday shopping season.”
