Internet services company iXL Inc. has won an initial contract with Home Depot to expand its e-commerce presence.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“Home Depot is tapping our core strengths in online retail, online learning and enterprise relationship management in order to redefine e-tailing for the home improvement market,” said Bill Nussey, president and CEO of iXL Inc.
“iXL’s experience in the retail sector, combined with the right mix of strategy, creativity and interactive expertise, will enable us to redefine how the Internet services customers;” said Ellen Dracos, director of homedepot.com.
Home Depot operates 890 stores in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Chile and said it expects to be operating more than 1,900 stores by the end of the year 2003.
Home Depot’s Web site was designed to extend the company’s customer service from the stores to the Internet by providing customers with more than 150 Project How-To’s, a personalized home page and various project calculators.
