Internet postage company Stamps.com named Wieden & Kennedy as its advertising agency of record.
The agency — known for its work with Nike, Microsoft, ESPN and Coca-Cola — will be responsible for driving the creative strategy and development of Stamps.com’s brand through an integrated national advertising campaign scheduled to launch this summer. Billings were not disclosed.
“It is essential that we communicate to small businesses and home users our dedication to bringing them a postage solution that is convenient, cost effective and easy to use,” said John Payne, president and CEO of Stamps.com. “We believe that Wieden & Kennedy is the ideal partner for creatively conveying this message to our customers.”
The initial campaign will be a comprehensive effort likely to include television, radio, print, outdoor and online advertising.
Stamps.com has developed an Internet-based e-commerce system that enables users to print postage directly onto envelopes, labels and business documents using an ordinary laser or inkjet printer. The company is regulated by the U.S. Postal Service and is in the third and final phase of beta market testing in California and the Washington, DC, area before commercial release later this year.
