iCrossing promotes Brian Powley; iVillage names SVP, marketing; Digital agency LBi hires U.S. COO.

iCrossing promotes Brian Powley. Previously chief client officer, Powley becomes president, North America. Additionally, Marlin Jackson is promoted from SVP of business development to EVP, global development, and Dallas Managing Partner Colin Turney becomes SVP, business development.

iVillage names SVP, marketing. Catherine Balsam-Schwaber was VP of integrated marketing for MTV Networks.

Digital agency LBi hires Frank Pedersen as U.S. chief operating officer. Pedersen comes to New York City from London and will be based out of LBi IconNicholson’s Manhattan office. He was previously client partner at AKQA, where he led the retail practice.

R/GA launches Barnes & Noble e-book reader. The agency built the brand, marketing plan, retail materials and online and print advertising for the “nook” product.

Local.com hires Richard Szatkowski. Szatkowski was named general manager of the company’s network and sales/advertiser services business units. He was most recently SVP, advertising and business development for Autobytel.
