Avenue A/Razorfish launches 'Black History' site for The Schomberg Center; Penn Media taps Pheedo to publish fifty e-newsletters in blog format; CoActive names former Modem Media CEO to board.
Avenue A/Razorfish built an “African-American Migration Experience” site for the Schomberg Center for Research in Black Culture. The online presence, built in celebration of Black History month, contains 8,000 photographs, 65 maps and 17,000 pages of documents from the Schomburg archives.
E-mail publisher Penn Media tapped Pheedo to publish fifty of its flagship e-newsletters to a Weblog format. Under the deal, Pheedo will also provide RSS and blog advertising services. Ad offerings will include video and contextual units. Penn will continue offering the titles to subscribers via email.
“We anticipate millions of new ad impressions created by our seven million subscribers,” said Penn Media President Jaffer Ali.
CoActive Marketing Group named former Modem Media CEO Marc Particelli to its board. Particelli led Modem Media until its acquisition by Digitas in October 2004. Earlier, he was a partner at Oak Hill Capital Management.
United Virtualities will soon launch an Ooqa-Ooqa branded browser campaign for SpongeBob Squarepants. It’s the third Ooqa-Ooqa deployment under a standing relationship UV has with United International Pictures. The campaign will run for a week on UK site CiTV.
Ode Magazine re-upped with online agency SRB Marketing. SRB will plan and place interactive campaigns for Ode into 2006. Its marketing channels include email and paid search.
