Yahoo hires Nash to lead communications efforts; PointRoll names sales director to lead new Detroit office.

Yahoo has hired Jill Nash to lead its communications efforts in the wake of several public and investor relations fiascos. As SVP and chief communications officer, she’ll have oversight of media relations, policy communications, internal communications, product promotion, and corporate reputation management. Nash was previously VP of global communications for Gap. She begins in January and will report directly to Terry Semel.

PointRoll named Sarah Ripmaster to be sales director in its new Detroit-area office. An account management team will be added next year.

Marchex signed contextual ad agreements with CurtCo Media and ITtoolbox. CurtCo offers a number of lifestyle titles serving luxury markets. ITtoolbox will rely on Marchex to serve ads to its communities, blogs, and other targeted sites.
