L.A. Times Interactive hires a general manager; IGN Entertainment names a marketing and media head; IPIX AdMission to power classifieds for Morris Communications.
L.A. Times Interactive hires a general manager; IGN Entertainment names a marketing and media head; IPIX AdMission to power classifieds for Morris Communications.
Robertson Barrett joined Los Angeles Times Interactive as general manager. Barrett held senior posts at Primedia’s Channel One Network, ABCNews.com and Time Online. Most recently, he was VP of interactive at Actual Reality Pictures.
IGN Entertainment, an online publisher of video game-related content, hired Dale Strang as executive VP and general manager of its media division. Strang was most recently senior VP of the game group at Ziff Davis Media. He’ll oversee IGN’s ad sales, marketing and editorial production.
IPIX AdMission will power Morris Communications’ online classified ads. Thirty-eight Morris publications and more than 70 outside clients will use the AdMission platform. Morris Communications publishes approximately 60 community newspapers.
About.com hired Dae Mellencamp as senior VP of product management. Mellencamp handled marketing and product strategy for Optimum Online at Cablevision Systems Corporation. She was also VP and director of content at iWon.
Winstar Interactive, a unit of online ad seller Interep Interactive, tapped Richard Lowden as Southwest regional sales manager. Lowden developed promotional tie-ins for CBS & UPN Television in the Bay Area. He replaces Matt McGuire, who took a job with MSN.
iKnowtion hired Doug Rae as director of optimization. Rae was director of quantitative analysis for Veridiem, building measurement tools for multimedia marketing programs.
