Delta Airline's World Cup brand fail

As brands try to cash in on the World Cup, we were waiting patiently for one of them to do something stupid. Congrats to Delta!

The football team from the United States defeated Ghana in the World Cup 2-1 on Monday.

The offending tweet drew condemnation from Twitter users, who blasted the message as racist and ignorant.

Unfortunately, the congratulatory message to the US team backfired as Twitter users pointed out that giraffes do not live in the African nation. The tweet was deleted after Tweeters responded that it was racist and ignorant, and Delta Airlines later apologised:

Delta Airlines apologized after deleting the giraffe tweet.
