Dotomi lays off several in U.S.; Falk names Gaske to head new L.A. office.
Dotomi laid off several U.S.-based staffers earlier this month. The casualties include VP of Sales Jim Alla, several marketing and sales staff, and a graphic designer.
Around the time of the layoffs, Dotomi hired Chuck DeSnyder, former GM of Digitas’ Boston office, as EVP of marketing. Dotomi President and CEO John Federman said the layoffs and the hiring of DeSnyder were part of a larger strategy to dedicate more resources to maintenance of existing accounts.
“We decided we needed to focus on putting all our direct marketing chops on making each of these accounts successful,” he said. “Before, our resources were devoted toward bringing accounts in. What we did is refocus accounts on Chuck DeSnyder. Now it’s about account optimization.”
The total number let go was less than 10, Federman said.
Falk eSolutions named Samantha Gaske to lead a new Los Angeles office. The West Coast presence will have a sales presence, and will also support existing publisher, agency, and marketer clients in the region. Gaske is a former account director at MyPoints. She also worked a stint for Yesmail and was among DoubleClick’s first employees in 1997.
Lamps Plus has begun using Coremetrics for analysis of customer and site visitor behavior. The specialty lighting company said it serves approximately five million customers per year in its retail outlets and on its site.
