OSH courts Hispanics with new site; InfoSearch Media taps Ask Jeeves vets; and Merkley + Partners wins Cold-EEZE account.
Sears’ Orchard Supply Hardware (OSH) brand taped MotionPoint to deploy a Spanish-language Web site that launched this week. The company said it felt it was important to reach Hispanic do-it-yourselfers, especially in the California market.
Search marketing firm InfoSearch Media has brought aboard two former members of Ask Jeeves’ senior management team. George Lichter will become chief executive officer and sit on the board of directors, replacing current CEO Steve Lazuka and board member Mike Rubin. Lazuka will become chief strategy officer. Lichter was formerly president of Ask Jeeves International before he left to head up Whole Body/Yoga Works.
Additionally, Claudio Pinkus, who was formerly president of Ask Jeeves business solutions, will become chairman of the board. Pinkus already held a seat on the InfoSearch board.
The Quigley Corporation, the maker of Cold-EEZE brand over-the-counter medicine, has tapped Merkley + Partners to be its creative ad agency of record. Merkley, along with media buyer Nail Advertising, will launch a national campaign that includes Web-based interactive programs.
Gannett’s PointRoll rich media firm has forged a preferred relationship with Tribal DDB. The deal calls for PointRoll to provide Tribal with enhanced services and training. Tribal DDB’s clients include Clorox, Dell, McDonald’s and State Farm. PointRoll has similar relationships with a variety of interactive agencies.
