The L.A. Times realigns; Lexus targets the African American market; Qwest gets Whitehead.

Los Angeles Times restructured its advertising and marketing departments. Among several promotions and appointments was that of Douglas Trueblood, who joined the company as vice president, integrated marketing.

Lexus has named Walton | Isaacson as agency of record for the African American market. The automotive manufacturer selected the minority-owned agency for strategic planning, creative development, experiential marketing and media fulfillment.

Qwest named Kim Whitehead as vice president of consumer marketing. The voice and data communications company hired Whitehead from a position as vice president of consumer marketing with BellSouth Telecommunications.

Beyond.com selected CMP Technology, as exclusive agency for recruitment advertising. The career network for business professionals also acquired TechCareers.com from CMP Technology.
