Phil Goldman, Silicon Valley Innovator, Dies; International Sports and Media Group subsidiary signs contract with Joe's Garb.

Phil Goldman, the technology leader who founded and was CEO of spam-free email provider Mailblocks, died the evening of Dec. 25. Cause of death has not yet been determined. Goldman, who founded Los Altos, Calif.-based Mailblocks in 2002, was also VP of advanced TV services of Microsoft, and was a founder of WebTV Networks. He was 39.

Mailblocks will continue operating under the direction of Susan Bratton, VP sales and marketing; Rich Landsman, VP engineering; and Phil Steffora, VP of network operations.

“Phil was a revered leader,” said Bratton. “His approach to business was an intelligent balance of foresight and risk-taking. Phil will be deeply missed.” Goldman is survived by his wife Susan, two children, his parents and two brothers.

International Sports and Media Group Inc. is walking a mile in Joe’s Garb shoes, or at least promoting them, now that its wholly owned subsidiary, Pan American Relations, has signed a one-year service contract to provide corporate communications, marketing and public relations for Joe’s Garb, Inc.

The company’s footwear is notable for its wild designs such as stylized red flames, using the tagline, “Shoes for the not so average Joe.” Pan American is a financial investor relations and corporate communications firm that specializes in providing emerging companies with guidance in the financial marketplace.

Yan Skwara, president and CEO of International Sports and Media, said, “We are extremely pleased to be working with such a trend-setting company.”
